Greatings to EMYR 2013 Sailors,

This is our second newsletter of EMYR2013 The volatile political situation in the Levant still remains although the recently cessation of hostilities in Israel is a welcoming sign that may mean that peace is a strong possibility.

Turkish & N. Cyprus marinas / ports managements have confirmed that they are happy to receive us again for 24th EMYR. The EMYR committee had a meeting on 24th November 2012 in Nicosia and made a decision for 2013 EMYR Provisional program, which is attached. There are two options with Lebanon visit and without Lebanon. We believe that it will very hard to get allowance to visit Jounieh but we continue trying.

On 23rd November 2012,the N.Cyprus Yachting federation organized the end of the cruising season dinner & presentation and we have met all the Turkish Cypriot sailors that they have sailed with the rally EMYR2012 from Girne to Karpas Gate Marina. There are more sailing & motor yachts in N.Cyprus and the state is designing 5 new marinas from Magosa on the east coast to Lefke on the west coast of Cyprus.

The EMYR2013 rally will start from Istanbul as previous years and 24 applicants have declared to start in İstanbul. We believe that at least half of them will change their decision as the time comes nearer because of different reasons. There are 12 nations according to the participants list and the number 1 group British, 22 yachts out of 45. You can visit the web site www.emyr.org to see the list.
• The rally committee continues to monitor the political situation daily in Lebanon, Israel & Egypt.
• Please try and be accurate on your joining port this is very important to us when we are at the planning stage.
• Each year we limit the participants to 80 yachts maximum as the ports & marinas have limited spaces for the Rally yachts. Already there are 45 yachts registered.
There will be more information with our next newsletter at the beginning of January 2013 if there is still any life in this planet. You have heard about December 21, 2012 is at the end of the world according to Maya calendar.

Please see the news from the past years’ rally participants & the information for entire EMYR on the web page, www.emyr.org

The committee will expect your entry confirmation with 250 Euro non-refundable donation credit card payment form until the 30th of December 2012.Those yachts not confirming by that date will be deleted from the main list The donation amount is 450 Euro per person and this amount must be settled by the end of March 2012 for the entire crew. The 250 Euro donation payment will be deducted from the total coast sharing donation. EMYR is an association and the donation is the terminology for the payments.

There are some other points that you should either address now or consider.
