Dear friends:

We hope our application to join the 2009 EMYR will be accepted. We look forward with excited anticipation to cruising again with old friends and making new friends. Since the 2004 EMYR rally we have continued to cruise the Levante Basin of the eastern Mediterranean and also the Red Sea.

Before the 2009 EMYR starts we will have organized and lead two Levante Basin Rallies one in 2005 and one in 2008. We have also organized and lead three rallies for Canadian sailors for members and friends of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. We have been members of the club for many years. In total these rallies have seen approximately 250 international sailors enjoy sailing the eastern Mediterranean from Marmaris along the south coast of Turkey and on to the TRNC, Southern Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt and
Jordan. These rallies can be viewed by visiting www.soleilsansfin.com.

The rallies we have run have been fully subscribed and would not have been possible without the road through the eastern Mediterranean having been paved by Hasan Kacmaz and the EMYR team over these past 20 years
