Good Morning
Having now completed the jobs for the day I can get round to updating everybody on our latest exploits. Our trip from Finike to Kemer Turkiz Marina was uneventful mostly under engine we arrived early just missing our friends on La Gabriella who had just left. Kemer has just changed ownership and our old friend Umut is now in sole charge. Kemer is a favourite place for wintering yachties and some of our old friends were still in the marina. We collected another 18 boats here along with Hasan on Ibis 2 so we are now 67 boats.
We had a full programme here meeting the other people, the Kemer Olympics, and of course the first formal dinner of the rally. Frank and Tari were here also to meet us they are fellow committee members and they will shortly leave for their trip back home to Lighthouse Point Florida. The dinner this year was held in the Turkiz Hotels beachside restaurant and a magnificent affair it was waiter service and a wonderful firework display.
Our great friend Żlkin and his wife, the marina manager from delta marine in Cyprus joined us so we had a great time swooping stories and drinking much wine. Żlkin is a great dancer and showed his skills off in the cha cha cha.
Umut was an outstanding master of ceremonies and the night went off without a hitch. The next day was the Kemer Olympics an event where each group competes against each other egg throwing three legged race and the tug of war where some of the events. I am sorry to have to say we came third despite a wonderful effort by Dee (Ocean Song) and Eddie from Zampa in the three legged race.
The afternoon was taken up by a flare demonstration and a presentation on the rally in the local council hall.
